Building Inspections

If you’re buying an existing home, or considering renovations, a general building inspection will give you a good indication of the property condition and highlight areas where repair work is necessary.

This report can also be used to highlight and examine a particular defect(s) of a building. This is also known as a Special Purpose Property Report. This report can enable you to negotiate a better purchase price from the vendor, once he is made aware ot the problems with his property.

Our experienced building inspectors have years of experience in the building industry, which will be applied to the inspection of your property.

The inspection report details any structural damage, and conditions that could cause further damage, and any other defects in and around the building and property. A full description of the property and the materials used in construction is also included.

What happens in an inspection?

The building inspector will investigate all accessible parts of the property, including the following areas;

  • Exterior and interior of the buidling
  • Roof Space
  • Sub-floor space
  • Roof exterior (subject to access and safety regulations)
  • Garage, carports and garden sheds
  • Separate toilets and laundry
  • Retaining walls
  • Steps, fencing, paths and driveways

We recommend building inspections are accompanied with termite and pest inspections.
